International Union for Painters and Allied Trades
A MODERN UNION TRADES WEBSITE
The IUPAT website redesign and brand refresh, aimed to revolutionize the digital presence of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, encompassing 140,000 members across diverse finishing trades. We created a multilingual, user-centric platform that resonates with the union's diverse membership, setting the stage for future enhancements to further connect and grow the union's community.
As the project’s Interactive Art Director I lead the redesign of the website including discovery, a brand refresh, information architecture, wireframes, and website design.
The Brief
Wide Eye's collaboration with IUPAT was aimed at revolutionizing its online presence. The union needed a multilingual, user-friendly website for 140,000 members across various finishing trades in both Canada and the U.S. The new site required a refreshed, modernized brand that showcased the diverse membership, and the union’s pride in their work.
The website must appeal to potential members, showcase the available career paths, and highlight membership benefits.
The goal was to foster a stronger digital community among IUPAT's members, drive union membership, showcase the perks and benefits of being a union member, and highlight the incredible union work and pride.
Challenge
The primary challenge was constructing a website that not only catered to the varied linguistic backgrounds of IUPAT's members but also encapsulated the essence of each trade represented. The website needed to be more than informative; it had to engage, educate, and empower its users, thereby fostering a sense of community and belonging among its diverse audience.
